On a recent radio appearance, Rep. Virginia Foxx, chair of the House Higher Education Subcommittee, said that she has “very little tolerance” for students who need to take out loans to pay for college. But the data show that covering college costs is harder than it’s ever been: college costs have grown 538 percent over the past 30 years.

The Minnesota State University Student Association is leaving nothing to chance when it comes to protecting Pell Grants. The group recently delivered 4,000 signatures to their congressional delegation in support of Pell.
MSUSA State Chair Amanda Bardonner said: “The proposed changes will eliminate 13,200 Minnesota students who currently receive the Pell Grant and will cost our students $76 million in grants. That’s a tradeoff our state and our economy simply cannot afford.”
